The ethos of HDBT to support individuals and their families and carers with sensory impairments linking with a range statutory and non-statutory agencies is one that l hope as a trustee can be achieved to benefit those in need.
Trained as a general nurse, learning disabilities nurse and behaviour therapist working in community , developing services particularly in relation to behaviour which challenges.
Latterly l worked within the Youth Justice Service endeavouring to meet the needs of young people and whose needs were often hidden, undiagnosed or misunderstood.
As a Queens Nurse, a title awarded in 2013 l hope to use my experience as a nurse but also as a previous long-standing carer to enable me to understand the needs of those who ask HDBT for help.
