I’m now retired after working in the NHS for nearly 40 years as a clinical psychologist with adults and children with learning disabilities. This experience has shown me that the world is designed to meet the needs of those without disabilities and it can be a very difficult place for those who are different, whether this is due to intellectual, metal health, personality (such as autism), physical or sensory problems. I value the opportunity being a trustee of the Hutchinson Deaf Blind Trust gives me to continue to use my skills, knowledge and experience to befit people with significant sight and hearing deficits.
